Zweig, Stefan

(1881-1942)
   Austrian author. He was born in Vienna and became a member of the Young Vienna group of Jewish intellectuals. In 1918 he wrote a pacifist play Jeremiah. His works include a number of biographies, The Buried Candelabrum and Beware of Pity.
